Calcula los puntos de corte con los ejes de coordenadas de las siguientes funciones:

– a) $f(x) = \frac{x}{2} + 3$
– b) $f(x) = -3.5x - 5$

SOLUCIÓN

– a) $f(x) = \frac{x}{2} + 3$

$y = \frac{x}{2} + 3$

Si $x=0 \Rightarrow y=\frac{0}{2}+3 \Rightarrow y=3$
Punto de corte: $(0,3)$
Si $y=0 \Rightarrow 0=\frac{x}{2} + 3 \Rightarrow x=-6$
Punto de corte: $(-6,0)$

– b) $f(x) = -3.5x - 5$

$y = -3.5x - 5$

Si $x=0 \Rightarrow y=-3.5 \cdot 0 -5 \Rightarrow y=-5$
Punto de corte: $(0,-5)$
Si $y=0 \Rightarrow 0=-3.5x - 5 \Rightarrow x=\frac{-5}{3.5}$
Punto de corte: $\left( \frac{-5}{3.5},0 \right)$
